Welcome to the home page for Swindon Borough Libraries.

Old Town Library is moving!

Old Town Library will close at 1pm on Tuesday 7 September 2010, and reopen at 4pm on Thursday 9 September 2010, in the Arts Centre, Devizes Road.

The new library will be open for 40 hours a week, at the following times:

   Monday - 10am to 5pm
   (staffed 10am to 1pm)

   Tuesday - 10am to 5pm
   (staffed 1pm to 4pm)

   Wednesday - 10am to 5pm
   (staffed 10am to 1pm)

   Thursday - 10am to 7pm
   (staffed 4pm to 7pm)

   Friday - 10am to 5pm
   (staffed 1pm to 4pm)

   Saturday - 10am to 1pm
   (staffed 10am to 1pm)

At times when the library is unstaffed, books can be borrowed and returned using a self-service facility, and public computers will be available.

Childrens storytime will continue on Tuesdays, 2.30pm, in the new library.

Arts Award Welcome!

Arts Award Logo

Swindon Libraries are now an Arts Award Welcome Organisation!.  The Arts award is a national qualification for young people aged 11-25 to develop their artistic knowledge and skills, and to become artistic leaders.  For more information log on to http://www.artsaward.org.uk.

How We Can Support You!

All of Swindon Libraries are available as a resource to help in your research.  Some libraries may be able to support you in the following areas

  • Exhibition space to display your artwork
  • Swindon Libraries hold arts events which you can come along to and review
  • Plan an arts event in conjunction with our youth ‘HeadSpace’ projec
